We are part of a Future Church Pilots project

This past fall we participated in a focus group organized by the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

Called Future Church Pilots, it is a three-year project rooted in the premise that new experimental faith communities are “pilot studies” for the church’s future, “beta tests” if you will, and already know something about the sorts of things that the future of the ELCA and other denominations will need to know.

The aim of the project is to offer opportunities for experimental new faith communities to learn with and from one another. Pastor Cindy will be able to visit another participant in the project cohort of about 25 communities around the country and also join a peer-to-peer retreat with leaders of five or six of these communities.

The final year’s opt-in national conference will be a chance for local community leaders to be teachers of their own practices, learnings, and experiments, along with the community we build saying something about what we learned across the whole cohort of new communities.
